So the summer is an exciting time for so many reasons.
One of my favorite things about the summer is the great movies.
The 2 most recent movies I've seen have been spectacular.
Terminator: Salvation was incredible. I'm not a huge Terminator franchise fan, but this movie was rad. The effects, the story, the humanity of the characters; it was all great. I told someone that I didn't think they could have made this movie any better. Christian Bale is one serious mamba jamba, and even though he had somewhat of a meltdown making this film, he's still the man.
Star Trek - expectations were met and actually exceeded. JJ Abrams did this giagantic-nerdy-cult-following franchise a favor...he made is available to everyone. Not just "Trekkies." The visual effects were astonishing, making me believe it all actually happened. Zachary Quinto was flawless as "Spock" and Chris Pine did great playing a young, arrogant James Kirk. I was never an original "Star Trek" fan. We used to watch "The Next Generation" with my dad growing up, but other than that I wasn't a huge fan. This movie was awesome.
Here's a list of the other movies I would like to see while in theaters:
Up
Transformers 2
Public Enemies
Sherlock Holmes
The comedy selection of films for the summer look kinda disappointing.
Most look really cheesy or really trashy. It will be interesting to see if any good ones come out.
I'm sure I'll be seeing a few romantic comedies as well ;)
